Ivan Lee is an emerging Hong Kong-based artist and a design student at the School of Design (The Hong Kong Polytechnic University). Having trained under a painting master from a young age, Lee maintains a disciplined approach to image-making, specializing in acrylics and technical pen. His practice is heavily influenced by Japanese contemporary art, merging spontaneous sketchbook doodles with meticulously layered compositions.
Characterized by dense mark-making and bold subject contours, Lee’s work transforms everyday observations into complex visual narratives that invite "slow looking." His artworks have been exhibited in both Hong Kong and Tokyo. Deeply committed to the local art scene, Lee explores the intersection of community and society, aiming to make contemporary art more accessible by bringing his intricate, illustrative style into public spaces.
